For too long now the most famous P-47 fighter group has been without a dedicated website.

This has all changed with the launch today of a new site dedicted to the 56th Fighter Group

The site contains a full roster of 56th FG personnel, a complete mission list, video interviews with 56th FG members, Memorial photos, Then/Now comparison photographs and much more.

That's a superb site !! There goes another 2 hrs of modelling time

Hey Nige, I was thinking of doing Russ Westfall's Anamosa II for the Dressed to Kill Campaign, or is RAF Green over NMF just too close to OD/NG

Cheers, D

Thankyou everybody for the messages of support and encouragement.
Since the site was launched the response has been amazing.
Work is continuing loading content onto the site, infact today alone there have been over 200 photographs added,
many of which are being shown for the first time.
Due to the frequency of updates right now an RSS feed isn't practical but it is certainly something that we will be looking into setting up.
Please subscribe to the mailing list for now to ensure you don't miss anything and also to find out more information
about what you can expect to see on the site in the future.
Once again, many thanks for the support!

Hello everybody.
The 56th FG pilots photographs are now uploaded onto the site.
Of 539 listed pilots who flew with the 56th I am only short of 12 photos.
I have leads on 2 of the missing photos but if anybody can help please contact me.

Also added this week are,,
More memorial photographs,
A selection of "Then And Now" comparrison photographs from Halesworth.
Reunion photos from Fairfax 2004
Original Boxted memorial dedication photographs.
New Boxted memorial photographs.
Some photo albums have been added to and there are some never before seen photographs including photos taken of A , B, and C flight in the 62nd FS Ready Room at Boxted and some fabulous and also never seen before air to air shots.

Almost 600 photos have been added over the last few days.

Sadly, Walker "Bud" Mahurin passed away a couple of days ago.(May 11th).
RIP Bud.

The 56th FG site continues to grow and the latest additions include Donavon Smith of the 61st FS logbook and photo album.

Other recent additions include previously unseen photographs of 62nd FS personnel, then and now photos of Halesworth and Boxted, more Timeless Voices interviews....

Lots more to come.

All the best,

Nige
