HI, I have the Dragon kit, the JU 188 Racher. What I need to know is; are there any major differences between this kit and the Dragon Ju 188E -A1? Also is it worth getting this kit? Thanks Alfie

Dragon do two Ju 188 kits: a Ju 188A-1/3 and a Ju 188E-1. "Rächer" was the name of both, although Dragon may not have bothered with it on both boxes. The major difference between them is, as with the originals, the engines: Jumo 213 in the A, BMW 801 in the E. Dragon's modular approach to the Ju 88/188 means that the two kits are all but identical, except for the engine sprues and the detail parts in the A kit that allow the A-3 to be made.

If you're a completist and already have one, the other's just as worthwhile to get, if you can afford it. For some reason the 188s are far more expensive than the 88s (possibly because Revell has never reboxed any) and occasionally head north of fifty quid. Of course, having done that, you'll then want an 88A, an 88C, an 88G and an 88P, plus the 88S from Hobbycraft ...

Thanks for the info. Yes, I have all of those kits you have mentioned. I have seen the JU 188 attempted to be sold for £94, I have two unmade . Yippe I'm rich. Alfie
