I have some decals from a Glenco Nieuport 28 kit. One of the profiles provided is a Nieuport 28 flow by Rickenbacker and later Smythe. The profile shows a solid color (brown?) cowling but does not show if the color carries back farther than the cowling itself. Is there a source/photo of this plane that shows the right side?
Also would the #16 be carried on the upper wing?
Thanks,
CWatson

The cowling was supposed to be red at one point. It was limited to the cowling. Otherwise from the factory it was half brown half light green.

I think Rickenbacker had the cowl painted white when he used it.
