It's a 1/72 scale P-40N academy kit, and masking the windshield is near enough impossible with my eyesight..any ideas, with this, the most difficult of the 3 piece canopy?
Cheers

Not having any first-hand experience, but basing this on reading a review suggesting that Academy's kit could have very well been "inspired" by Hasegawa's kit of the same subject, Eduard's mask set for the Hasegawa offering might fit right in.

Alex,
Nearly ready to tackle a similar problem on Heller's 1/72 P-40E. Please share what you did and how it worked.
We're queuing up a P-40 build for next year and I'm sure some folks are gong to be very interested in what you learn.
TIA, Mark

Thanks for the replies, everyone : )
I've taken a look at the masks but think I'll improvise with the masking. And yes, I'll certainly share the outcome with all ; )

Alex, mate I did this kit not too long back and used a combination of tape and liquid mask. Liquid mask on the front section and tape on the sides. Turned out pretty good.

Thanks, Nick! I'll have to get some liquid mask then : ) Any photos of your completed kit?

No problems at all Alex. I found using something relatively sharp like a tooth pick, made it a lot easier to put the mask on and to make it flow easily upto the canopy frame. Heres a shot of the P-40N, not a real good shot of the front of the canopy but best I had. Post some of yours!

Nice work, Nick! I like the weathering you've done on the white painted areas.
I'll post photos up when I get some more work done on her. Still no decals for a NMF bird at present, so she may be naked as far as decals are concerned!
