was the Lavochkin exterior surface all wooden other than the engine cowling and exaust plate? amazing that this plane was could compete with the German planes
I am trying to determine where to add chipping..thanks

Sorry for the delay in responding. Apart from the exhaust plate and cowling, the cockpit side panel (the one with the triangular end), and rear wing root section were also riveted.
