I checked the canopy section and didn't really find an answer for my question so here goes...

How do you fill a large gap or huge offset (1/16th inch) inbetween a canopy and the fusalage and blend it so it looks right? Oh, and without fogging your canopy... (canopy dipped in Future)and have something sandable to blend into fusalage lines???

This is what I've thought about so far: Mr. surfacer, stretched sprue/tenax/Mr. surfacer, Testors canopy clear cement/window maker

I'm not sure that any of my ideas would work or that they would fog the glass

Thanks, Hellbent

How about trying some white glue. Apply it let it dry, then paint it if necessary. That should fill the gap nicely I would think. Hope this helps you out. Russell

if its just a gap white glue will fill quite large spaces, i use it to attatch and fill canopies, and you can get it fairly cheaply.
it also dries clear so any over zealous blobs will just disappear on their own.

Thanks guys, sorry about the late reply, I was on vacation. I think maybe a combination approach with the white glue and some filler rod.

Any brands in particular for the glue or will any work?

Thanks, Hellbent

Had some luck with Testors canopy (White PVA?) glue. For the price, Elmer's (US Brand) would probably work just as well.

There is also that Aileen's yacky glue I was wondering about. The main thing is that I need something sandable that won't fog the canopy

Thanks, Hellbent
