I hope to do the MPM report over the next week.
Jean-Luc wanted to prepare the reports for Aeroscale (and TMM France) I do not know how well Jean-Luc is doing. He just rarely logged in over past week and he does not post. hope he is fine (and his wife and children too) and is just too busy to post. He also did some videos, which can be very interesting when he manages to do an interesting cut with a good Bierzelt music

Rowan: Well, it is not really easy to explain in a few sentences. Both companies basically use 3 different techniques for mold making with several advantages and disadvantages. Eduard wants to go fully the CAD/CAM road with aluminium tools now. But they also used coated resin molds and copper molds in the past. Which MPM group still does depending on how much sale they expect how good the tool has to be and so on. (e.g. compare the Spitfire Vc and the Avia B.33)
Main concern is how many shots you get from the tool and how fast you can produce a tool. As you could see with the damaged Fw 190D-11 issue Eduard carved a new tool in a week or so. OTOH the He 115 will take about 3 years until production. If you want, come over for a beer and we can discuss this more in depth ... or wait for J-Ls report. It is very warm here in s-w Germany, the game is running again and these vuvussomethings give me a bad headache ..

cheers
Steffen
P.S. did I mention that I am lazy ...
