Hey All,
Does anyone know if the FW 190's landing gear is supposed to be angled inwards towards the center of the aircraft? I'm building the Academy 1:72 Heinz Bar 190 and the gear just doesn't look quite right to me.

I am by no means a luftwaffe experten but I do think the FW109 gear are splayed inward some vice the BF109 that is outward. Here's a reference pic for you:

Brian,
Cool photo. Obviously it's a restoration or rebuild, but whose?

Photo came from a German restoration company. Here's their link:

Thank you. I wasn't able to find any "head on" shots to confirm the angle. That was just what the doctor ordered.

My word!!!!!
Wonder if I can get my local bank to approve the loan for a 190A? With a Russian radial too. That has to be a real goin' machine. Wonder if I can find some surplus Oerlikons . . . . . . .

:-) Tazz This is the Arii FW 190, it is the A-8. I have used airwaves PE. This was one of my first 1/48 WW II models, it's about one hundred years old . The kit has nice surface detailing, but the cockpit is a bit sparse, hence the reason for the PE. If I remember correctly it builds quite easily. I use Xtracolor paints and the kit decals. Only problem with the decals was the white on the crosses was not opaque enough. I also believe it is quite acurate. I quite like this model, I can see where I have improved :-)
leogunner As in Bryans pic you can see how angled the gear legs are.
