I’m finally started this project after a year. While at an air show in Niagara Falls, NY I took some photos of a MedEvac Blackhawk. For the measurement of the carousel I took out my boot lace and used it writing it down and measuring the results at home. Everything is made from Evergreen Plastics.

I'm making two sets, one for now and the other will go into the parts bin.

I did get a lot of odd looks.

I have to kick myself in the ass for not getting the tail number, the only pic I have shows the first two numbers..”24”. I’ll keep posting along.

Here is my web-shots page, there are more pics and of the helicopter. Take what pics you want, feel free.

Mother, the litter stacker looks awesome. I can't wait to see this one done. I have been planning on a MedEvac Hawk for a while too. I took full pics of one a few years ago at Ft Itwin, which are on Prime Portal. I did up drawings of the stacker as well, but never got to it.

Looking really good Joe. Nice bit of scratch building with the evergreen. I like the tie down points in the floor of the passenger cabin. Thanks for posting and looking forward to your build.

Could you scan and E-Mail me your patterns for the interior pieces? If it is possible, because I would like to try and do a Medavac also. [email protected] I would really appricate it.

I have the carousel pretty much done, just a few odds and ends left. I'm using the Archer rivet decals. I only hope they show up after painting. I plan on doing a one side coat to see, if they don't show I will not bother with them. Post more soon.

Happy Modeling,
Joe

Thanks Tim, Justin and Justin.

Tom give me a day or two, I'll put a drawing together and post it here. One word of caution...I can’t guarantee you the accuracy , like I said I used a boot lace. It’s close

Joe;
They look AWESOME!!! Much easier to do in 1/35. But my scale is 1/48, so I will use your Blog as referance when it comes time for my own build. You got lucky w/ your photo adventure. They are less restricted on Medavacs. I was at the Army Aviation Symposium in Uniform trying to take photos of the 160th's Hawk DAP, and was forbiden to take photos. But its good I have a Photo Graphic memory.I will produce my own DAP for my collection.
Quick note the MH-60Q Medavac, uses the Flir and Avionics from the L update. as well as exhaust shrouds.RWAS,GPS,Como suite. Keep up the GREAT Build.

Thanks Floyd and Todd.

As for the "Q" Hawk...well I'm not sure if I want to get into it, I may who know. I have some reference but not enough.

Floyd I'll try to give you a ring during the week.

I got your email Todd, took care of it...no problem bud.

Joe;
Thanx. Just curious are you building an A,L,M, or Q. So far your parts are by far btr than the kit. Did you drill wholes for the carousel details or is it a rivit tool embossing?. The finished parts details are great.!! Do you have detailed photos of the ceiling as well. Keep up the the great work its coming along like a show winner. Todd

A M A Z I N G !

Seeing your work I don't think you'll need any inspiration, but anyhow here's a great MedEvac conversion by Norbert.

Not sure Todd, haven’t decided how far I want to take this yet. I find myself getting board after finishing the major scratch building sections and then never finishing the project. Just look over some of my other build blogs. I will push myself into finishing this one.

As for the rivets, check my 4th post down, you’ll see that I used Archer rivet decals.

Thanks Klaus and Justen…I remember when Norbert built this, it was truly a master piece.

I see you're at it again. I do have a blackhawk but I dare start it with so many other works in progress but I am really liking your progress. Your work is very precise and I still can't believe you do this from scratch. I'm surprised you haven't come out of retirement and started your own AM company

Joe, again may I say this is truly amazing work.
Those Archer rivets really did the trick.

I agree with Sean Hopkins.
Come on out of retirement and get that resin after-market company going! I even have a name for Ya'... "Mother's Finest" Just like that hot band from Atlanta in the 70's! (Yeah I know, a lot easier said than done).

Anyway, you're doing a bang up job there.
Please don't get bored with this one.
This UH-60 will look cool along side your UH-72A Lakota

Thanks Sean and Pete, we'll see about casting them. Like Pete said, "There's more to it".

I'm not sure how much I'll get done this week, the weather is so freaking hot it's just to hard to work. Here in Buffalo we are not used to the heat. It's in the 90's till Thur and high 80's for the next week following and no I do not have AC. I have two units but unable to put one in the model room as the outlit is on the other side of the room

Gone on vacation for a week and I missed a lot. She is coming along great Joe. The stacker looks excellent. I'm sure the rest of the conversion will look great too. Keep up the great work.
