In the old days, kit decals were almost always matt finished. Over recent years, glossy carrier films have become much more common. But which do you prefer to work with? - or maybe it makes no odds to you by the time you've applied a final gloss- or dull-coat?...

Gloss. For the simple reason that you might need to put a stencil on top or near marking.
