Am looking at the Italian Aces in 109s set from Stormo, and would like suggestions on the best kit in 1/32nd. I presume it's one of the Hasegawa's, but which one? HSG08191? It's a late G (G-14). Is there nothing good earlier?
I know, it's weird letting decals determine the plane, but I'm intrigued by this, as well as the Swiss scheme for the Trumpeter 109E.
UPDATE: Luckymodel has the HSG 08067 G-6.

Hi Bill
I must admit that is exactly what drew me to the Trumpeter 109E, the Swiss markings. Looking at the decals for the Trumpeter kit, most of the red and white stripes will be put in the bin and the stripes applied by airbrush. I am not a massive fan of the Emil's, but there is something about these markings that really draw my attention. I think it's the same with the black and white allied invasion stripes, just something about them when applied to aircraft grabs me.
All the best in your quest.

As you mentioned, I too think that Hasegawa's kits are currently the best 109s in 1:32. They also make a G-4, which could be converted to G-2 with relative ease. (I'm not sure if they have "proper" G-2 kit)
If you're planning to use those aftermarket decals and the kit decals don't matter, keep your eyes open for the Revell re-boxes of Hasegawa kits. Pro-modeler has also re-boxed Hasegawa 1:32 Bf 109s.

I would use the Hasegawa kit. I built the G-6 kit a few years back when it came out. It went together very easily and virtually no filling if you just test fit as you go. I built mine OOB and it had a decent amount of detail. I plan to build another one some day.
