Next question:
I want to do a Battle of Britain Stuka. I have the Revell release of the Hasegawa 1/48 scale kit and SuperScale sheet 48-833. The kit decals are for:
a snake marking from 6./St.G. 2 in Libya, June 1941 (T6+CP, no unit badge)
Stab. III/St.G.77 at Argos/Greichenland in May 1941 (F1+BC, horsed knight on a yellow field with a jagged blue top the to the field).
The SuperScale sheet has markings for what it says are:
Ju 87B-1 from 7./St.G. 51 in France, Sept. 1939 6G+AC (large shooting star)
Ju 87B-2 from 4./St.G.3 1940 T6+EM with a white fuselage band under the national insignia and a green four leaf clover on a white field
Ju87B-1 of 8./St.G.51 France, 1940 G6+FS red stylized bird on a white sheild
Something doesn't seem right with the SS sheet. That first one in France in Sept. 1939? Date doesn't seem to line up. The next one (4./St.G.3) seems like what I'm looking for, but I didn't think the Lufwaffe used fuselage bands in the summer of 1940.
I know SuperScale has some accuracy issues, especially with their descriptions (the profile drawings are all B-2s, for instance). Can anyone tell me if I can do a BoB aircraft given the various decals I have and, if so, what it should use and look like?
Thanks!!
Michael

Hi
I can find no reference to Stukas having fuselage bands prior to 1941.
Research, research, research.
In my eye, SuperScale is highly inaccurate in all their sheets, and obviously do little true research. Their decals are made for the masses and profit, not for the rivet counter. However, they are nice decals and parts of them are useful.
I would use what you can off the sheet you have, after doing the research. You may well have to access other sheets for what you don't have, or get someone smarter than me to make them for you. If your that deep.
