Hi, at the moment i am building Tamiya's wonderful Spit mk.1.

One of the colours mentioned is Sky. I have heard that it isnt like a sky blue and is a greenish grey - which would be the best paint for me to use and do vallejio do an airbrush paint for that colour?

Thanks Loads

Hi Jake,

The best "Sky" is Tamyia's XF-21. It is great to brush out of the bottle, thins well with water (altho better with Tamyia Thinner )

The closest Valljo has is Pastel Green Personally, I've never used Vallejo, so I can't comment on how it compares

Hope this helps

Jake

I use the Revell AQUA matt sky (36159) for both brush and airbrush diluted with de-ionised water.

You can get Tamiya paints to brush well out of the bottle?

I want to know how. I can't get them to brush for a damn. they spray well thru and airbrush for me, but using a brush with Tamiya paints is always disaster for me (vallehos work well for me though)

what kind of brush do you use? what kind of primer? i'd really like to be able to brush with tamiya paints.

Best acrylic "Sky" is by Xtracrylix, best enamel "Sky" is White Ensign's Colourcoat in my opinion. I don't use Tamiya so don't know about that. Don't beat yourself up too much about it. There was a lot of confusion about this colour at the time and there appears to have been some variation initially, leading to all sorts of reminders and clarifying orders.

Got to agree with Steve re Xtracrylix Sky, it's a great colour and airbrushes really well, mix with Water,or the proper thinners.
