Hi all
Some of you may know me from Armorama, I've decided to take the plunge and move into aircraft modelling as well as armour subjects.
I know very little about aircraft, I'm learning as I go along, so forgive me in advance for any stupid or obvious questions.
I'm trying to find some 1/32 soviet decals for a lend lease aircraft I'm trying to model right now. Does anyone have any info on who would cover this for aviation after market? I have tried my usual AFV suppliers but can find any aviation decals.
I'm planning to use some of my AFV decals anyway such as guards badges, but I would like to try and get the correct numbering style if possible?
Any ideas would be most welcome!
Thanks all!

In this case a soviet spitfire. I found some nice colour plates online but I'm not sure how accurate they are. Most seem to have the generic red star and numbering similar to soviet tanks.

I can only find 1/72nd and 1/48th decals on a quick search at Hannants .
You could always ask Mal (Holdfast) to do you some markings, with his Miracle Masks. They would probably be cheaper then decals as well.

Thanks Andy! I've seen miracle masks mentioned in magazines, they do custom requirements as well? If they do that's awesome.

I used CAM Decals Russian stars for my 1/32 Hurricane and painted the numbers.

Thanks, but actually Miracle Masks are helping me out on this one.

Mal has done masks for me for both the Soviet Stars and the numbering, he's also making decals/mask combo for the guards badge. I should receive them this week and I'll be sharing my findings on the guards badges especially.

Jon, let us know how this goes, as the AM decal situation in 32 scale is pitiful outside of the "usual suspects," especially if you get far afield. There are some new & promising efforts like Stormo's 109s in Italian service, but I'm going to do the Poliakarpov I-16 and it comes with precious little other than stars and some patriotic slogans. I didn't realize Mal was back up & running.

Bill if you want soviet stars in 1/32 Mal is certainly your man. I got my lend lease spitfire masks today and I'm very impressed. The stars in particular are amazing.

Mal also did a great job on the numbering.

It will be a while till I can paint these as I haven't started my spitfire yet. However I am planning to use the stars also on my hind. I'll be painting this soon

Thanks, Jon. I'm awaiting the arrival of my Poliakarpov I-16 so I can give Mal the specs to go with my Mk. I Spit. I didn't realize he was "back in business" (cue that line from "Godfather III").
