Ive started working on the Roden AU-23A that was reviewed a bit ago. Thanks to Stephen (JackFlash) for passing on the sample for me to build.
great kit, and overall good fit too. So far its been a breaze to build.
I need to find some belts for those seats!
only fit issue so far is the nose parts. I was wise and attached them to the halves early on to avoid any bad "step" on the fuselage sides. However it looks like the nose is just a tad wider than the fuselage, so a small gap results on the top (bottom is fine). A little sanding and file work will remove some of the nose for a perfect fit...so no big deal here.
overall so far... those are 1/32 figures on the side. This plane is pretty big!
Comments welcome!

Looks like there are a few challenges in the box for you. Looks good so far.

Nice progress so far, Andy. It will look the part with a very civilian look and heavy stores of weapons at the same time.
Looking forward to see more.

Wow, that is one ugly looking son of a gun! This will look great with all of that weaponry piled onto it's airframe

Hey all, quick update...
Ive been juggling several builds right now (many with deadlines!) so havent done much...BUT thanks to IPMS USA, i was able to obtain the new quickboost items for the kit ....nose, prop, and exhaust. The review of these should be up on the IPMS USA website soon.
the short of it is the prop and exhaust are great...pass on the nose. Its undersize in cross section and doesnt match up with the kit fuselage. Now if you cut it a few mm forward of the assumed panel line (there are no instructions in the set, so i assumed that the cut needed to be made at the panel line), then the nose might fit fine...but its too late for me. Ill be doing some serious putty/flaring work now!
now i do wish Quickboost would do a new minigun to put inside...and some seats with belts! that would be awesome.

That would be awesome!
I was just at my favorite lhs last evening and saw this Roden kit along with one of there Mohawks and was thinking of your build. I'll wait to see how this turns out before I make a decision on buying one of these.

I think True Details may have some gun barrels / open tubes and you could actually build a better detailed version with some sheet plastic.
