I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this, but I heard some tragic news today regarding the death of Max Darby in a house fire near Melbourne. Max was an 88 year old Battle of Britain veteran fighter pilot, and is survived by his 86 year old wife Pat. Pat was woken by the fire and tried to wake Max but was unable to.

I have not been able to find any further history on Max, but I will post some when I do.

Thanks for posting Damian, that is very sad news particularly as it is the 70th anniversary of the Battle of Britain at the moment. Sad news indeed. Blue skies and fair winds Max from me as well.
