My apologies if this has been proposed before, but the coming spring marks the 50th anniversary of the Gargarin and Shepard lift-offs.

So, how about a Campaign commemorating man's departure from planet earth? All manner of manned spacecraft as well as support vehicles like certain ships and aircraft would qualify, maybe even very high altitude aircraft? Scale builds to diorama would qualify.

The start date would be April 12th (Yuri's blast off date) and go for a year.

Sounds like a great idea to me Karl, although this might be more of a campaign for our sister site ModelGeek. I have always fancied doing a Gemini spacecraft, there is a good one in 1/48 in resin featured on the ModelGeek site. U2, SR-71 may qualify as "manned spacecrafts" too now that i think of it.
