Hi!, Guys,

I can't believe that this kit is so high online, prices range $99. to $125.
My local hobby shop is selling it for $89.99 :-). The price online is not even
counting S&H or local state tax.

It's still a very hot item and with all the great reviews it's getting, I'm sure they'll get people to pay the prices. You can't even get it at the local hobby shops here-at least I haven't seen it. $100 is out of my price range anyway.

local hobby shops want $150 for the kit I just scored a deal for a set of CAM decals for an Enduring Freedom bird and another resin seat so I'm shopping for another one (Once I finish the one I have)

I am thinking of purchasing that kit, while its still in that low price.
Maybe sell it someday, and makes some extra cash $$$$$

luckymodel.com has it listed at $79.99 right now. That's the cheapest yet I've seen :-)

I lucked out one my first one. Hobby Lobby 1/2 off sale. I went ahead and got a second one anyway. Paid 89.00 for it , but when you look at the Tamiya prices and what you are getting, the Academy kit is worth the money. It is one sweet kit to work with.

Tamiya is still milking the F-14 Tomcat. Nothing has changed in the base kit, just added some new weapons and decals. Now the kit that was selling online for 70-80 bucks is priced at 150.00 and up. Alot of BS if you ask me. The Bunked Buster F-15 went the same route. My buddy bought it and paid around 140.00, I told him he should have gotten the Strike Eagle and used my GBU's I got with the Academy kit.

I saw it in a local hobby shop and wow! It costs Php 4000 or 80 USD. It is a nice kit. My only problem is the space for that kit

Prowler, where do you have access to a hobby shop that sells kits below MSRP? Around here (Connecticut) they would charge you twice the MSRP if they could! Since most of us have a finite budget for our hobby, we have to seek the services of the discount mailorder houses because 1) they have what you want and 2) they offer it at a price that you might be able to afford! While hardly peanuts, $89.95 is an attractive price for a GREAT 1/32nd F/A-18 kit from Academy. The price is a little less painful when you have so much quality packed into a big, big box!

Badpony, Lucky Model is based in Hong Kong, by the time you
get done with S&H, you're better of buying it online locally.

5th Mech, I feel your pain, If you want I can give the e-mail
address of my local hobby shop, so you could buy it a little
cheaper.

Prowler, if it's not an imposition, please send along the e-mail address of your hobby shop. I'd love to see what they might be offering for prices on the new 1/32nd Trumpeter Thud and Weasel kits.

There is a GREAT hobby shop here in Connecticut that is far from "local" for me but everytime I'm in their neighborhood I try to drop in to see what's new. The only drawback is the full MSRP on everything and the local sales tax. I'd love to give them my business but find that the cost of shipping is usually a wash with the sales tax and the discount prices of the mailorder houses always makes for a far better deal.

THANKS!
