Greetings all;
In an effort to practice what I preach I am in the middle of an offline GB. It started with the Colorado Aviation Historical Society contacting me and asking if I could be the go between for them with a local IPMS group. They were asking for completed model kits from young modelers to use in a fundraising auction.
Their promoter is Ms. A. Parks and I hooked her up with Fred at Colpar Hobbies in east Denver CO. Fred donated 20 snap tite aircraft kits and I approached the Rob Wolf IPMS club . The rest is what we can call a GB.
The kits are ;
The Shuttle
The F 18 Hornet
The SR 71
Previously built models may also be donated for the auction.
This is a great opportunity for young local modelers to learn about the CAHS and its role in CO. For participating each built kit will result in a certificate from the CAHS for the modeler. It can be Dad n lad, or solo builds, Dad & Daughter or sibling co-op builds. Mom can join in too.
This is a plan or template if you will, for your consideration. Start one where you live. Historical Society or Civil Airpatrol or local museum. It takes volunteers in the hobby to give growth to the hobby.

What a wonderful idea and great way to introduce the hobby towards the young folks and families . There was a local Church which used to this and every year I would donate a few kit's for their after school programs . Sadly though the Church is no longer there . Condo's rest there there now and a parking lot .

All told there are 20 models for the CAHS 2010 fundraiser / banquet. Let me express my sincere thanks to IPMS Rob Wolf for their speedy and complete cooperation. Model on!

Here is the latest.
"Stephen,
Last week's Colorado Aviation Hall of Fame Banquet was a success and the aircraft models were a big hit. All 20 tables had a model placed on them as part of the decor. We are in the process of designing the certificates, which will be distributed to the individual model builders.
Thank you for your support!
