I am currently building this kit. It is very difficult to build. Pieces don't fit correctly, tons of flashing and needs one hell of alot of putty to fill gaps. Avoid this like the plague. IT is from their WW2 aces collection. This one is Buzz Beurlings Spitfire. I am so dissapointed.

Thanks for the info HastyP, I was thinking of getting that kit but I won't bother now. I've heard ICM kits can either be very good or very bad, I've only had their RAF ground crew and pilots kit and it is excellent.

Hi HastP
I bought a couple of these some time ago and found similar problems - some poorly moulded parts with sink marks.
Ironically, many reviews have pointed out that the ICM Spitfire IX is actually more accurate than the Hasegawa equivalent... but a lot less easy to build!
I still haven't got 'round to tackling the ICM model, but I'm prepared for some hard work...
All the best

The ground crew (RAF) came with this model and they are fine. Just the damn plane. If nothing else I guess I can use this kit as an experience builder. My first airplane kit though is sure frustrating for an armour builder.

Hi again
What a kit to pick for a first airplane model!!!
Don't let it put you off though...
If you want hassle free builds - modern Tamiya, Hasegawa, Revell (Monogram) and Eduard are hard to beat... but there's tons of exciting stuff out there if you're prepared to put in some extra work! :-)
Maybe chill out with one of the above to get your sanity back...
All the best

Thanks Merlin
I needed that info on the hassle free builds. I am planning on buying a tamiya Huricane for my next airplane build, but that will be after two tanks I have.

Hi HastyP
Do Tamiya do a Hurricane?... I know Hasegawa do... (Revell re-box the same MkII if you want a cheaper option...)

Sorry Merlin
It is a revell-germany model. I am mistaken. It is only $22. My buddy built one and said it went together well.

The decals on this baby are a nightmare as well. No matter how warm the water and hot wet the decals they rip apart all over the place. Just cheap garbage. STAY AWAY!!!
