Hello all,
Does anybody know whether some aftermarket producer makes an air intake FOD cover for the F-16C block 50 ("big mouth" intake) in 1/72?
I got a Hasegawa model, and as you definitely know the intake duct is very short!

James, Way back when, while I was working on the F-16A, there were 2 covers. One was fabric and pinned to the upper splitter plate and has straps back to several places on the fuselage and NLG. There was a second cover that was for run up tests, it was a set of 3? frames made with square aluminum tube and some sort of wire mesh riveted to it. We tried to design a plastic frame to replace the aluminum ones but we couldn't get the plastic to flow all the way thru the frames.
I'm not aware of any AM for these, but the fabric cover could be made up from wet tissue and painted red with black lettering and straps.

Thanks, it's a very interesting idea!
Definitely better than having a "closed" intake, and it would even save me A LOT of time in masking the intake lip!

Here's a couple of ideas:
The Academy F-16I box art is most like what I remember from the mid 70's at GDFW, but the Homestead F-16C shows a little bit of local initiative.

For all my soft FOD cover I use masking tape. To this day I never had any problems lifting or coming off, I've been doing this for years.

Joe, FWIW, I left GDFW 30 years ago this month. I recall that the F-16 fabric inlet cover was one or 2 pieces of fabric, the front drapped over the inlet and did not conform to the shape of the top 'splitter' plate. If there was a seam, it was either across the front, dividing it into an upper and lower half, or around the edge of the inlet, kind of like a drum cover.

Thanks Mark but those are Prowler covers, I was trying to show that tape can be used. I'll keep that in mind about the F-16 covers.
