Hi

Has anyone got any tips for painting the whitewash that some German planes on the Eastern front during winter months?

I'm using an airbrush and I'm painting the planes in their usual Camo first.

thanks
Mike

A good idea would be:

Airbrush the camo with acrylics & then (when the color is dry of course ) airbrush an Enamel white ( with a few drops of light blue to avoid yellowing).

After that, you take a brush with white spirit & start "scratching" the color

Cheers Nick

Would that work with just acrylics? I don't have an enamel white (I try to avoid enamels) and have never used enamels with my airbrush as yet.

thanks

Use hairspray technique, it is very easy to do. Here it is step by step http://migjimenez.blogspot.com/2009/11/hairspray-technique-vol1.html

Hi Mike. Another technique to try would be to seal the camo with future then airbrush a thinned white/blue acrylic mix, slowly building up the cover in an uneven pattern until you're happy.

I used this method on my P-47 HERE

Cheers, D
