Here is my 1/48 scale Dragon Fw 190D-9, I built this one as an up gunned Dora that was used by the Zerstorer units at the end of 1944. This particular aircraft was one a small batch of the heavy armor D-9's built by Fieseler in November 1944.

On to the pics...

As many of you know by now this is a what-if, there were no D-9s that had the outer wing cannons mounted or were operated by the Zerstorer groups.

Nice one Les!

Still, if I might suggest, maybe put some Panzerblitz rails under the wings.. this would support the Zerstörer idea (e.g. from the Tamiya Fw 190 F kit) or R4M gatings from a Me 262 kit --- both are not "Lw 46" ideas, but were real.

all the best

Thanks for the comments guys!

Steffen,
I will build one more what-if Focke-Wulf before the year ends, the next one will be a Fw 190D-13 operated by JG 301 and this one will have X-4 rockets.

Next year I will be building two large scale Dora's one of them will be W.Nr. 600150, the plane pictured on the cover of Vol.1 of Jerry Crandall's Dora book.

Nice work again! What-ifs are always interesting.
I've just completed a 1/72 Academy 190D-9 myself. Not sure if its 100% accurate but it certainly was a nice kit to build!

thanks

Thanks Mike!

I have the Academy Fw 190D-9 kit in my stash, it looks like a decent kit to me but have yet to build one of them. Right now I am finishing two 1/72 scale kits (not Doras), should have some pics of them posted in another week.

Thanks Steve!
I like making models of late war Luftwaffe and Luft'46 stuff, sometimes I will mix the two to make something like this Dora, maybe this one should be called Luft'45?
