I have a can of the Tamiya IJN green colour, and want to know what the underside colour should be. The box art on the kit looks grey, but it is an ancient hasegawa kit and the instructions are in Japanese.
Did they have any with a light grey underside similar to a zero? I have seen pictures of Betty kits, where the undersides are actually a natural metal finish.
I am not exactly a stickler for historical accuracy, just want to make a nice looking Betty! Any tips welcome.

The sum total of my "knowledge" about this comes from the instructions for the Tamiya 1/48 Betty hiding in my cupboard so...........
All 5 aircraft that there are decals for have AS-2 as the underside colour which is IJN Light Grey. They cover time frames from December 1941 (Malaya) to 1942-3 (Rabaul) and then 1944 (Homeland).
The bit of English in the instructions says that early G4Ms were overall metallic silver and in July 1941 2 tone upper camo was introduced with either the silver or a gray undersides.
