I am soon to tackle Smer's Supermarine walrus.
It goes without saying that I will do some correcting and adding-on.
The most obvious correcting is the hull. SMER is vague on whether it is supposed to be a Mk. I, with metal hull, or a Mk.2, with a wooden, metal clad hull.
I think they suggest it to be a Mk.I what with all the rivets, but the ones modeled into the hull are recessed and are wrongly laid out. However, the engraved vertical lines on the hull align pretty closely to where the ribs would be on the real craft.
I plan to fill all the hull markings, eliminating the rivets (because on the Mk.2 they are flush) but keeping the rib markings where they are obvious in pictures I've seen on the internet. That's the plan anyway.
I have two questions to ask - what is the interior colour of a Mk. 2 Walrus? What was the hull construction - wood with metal cladding inside and out, or just the exterior?
Thanks.
