One of our regular lurkers here is Matt Bittner (he writes for another internet website, shhhh) and his specialty is 1:72 WWI kits. I'll check with him.

Classic plane did some 1:72 WWI vacuforms back years ago. They were fine pieces. Hopefully there is more than a link there. Herr or Herrn is the masculine form for mister.

There are some hit-and-miss kits with Luedemann. If I remember correctly, they're made "to order" so you might have to wait. I've heard great things about some, but the one kit I have is sorely lacking.

The only Luedemann I have is their Nie.24 (bis, maybe?). Lots of problems with it, not only in accuracy, but also resin "problems": big air bubbles, parts poorly cast, etc.

However, it could be I just received the "runt of the litter". Difficult to say since that one experience left me "wanting". I can see on the list, though, there are kits there no one else does, so it might just be worth it.

Hello,

A friend of mine once bought a 72nd scale AEG bomber from 'm. At home he found out one lower wing was missing. It was not easy getting this from the manufacturer, took about a year. Also this kit had all the problems mentioned by Matt . It's not a brand I would recomend.

Cheers, Nico

After pondering i have come to the conclusion that due to the fact Luedemann kits are not distributed, and that they make to order,Ludemann could be the source of kits for some of the other east european kit companies. Also the price of Luedemann kit's are a third cheaper buying direct from Modelbau studio.

I have two of the Luedemann Taube kits: the Jeannin Stahltaube and the Gotha Taube. I built the Jeannin Stahltaube about 6 years ago, one of my earlier efforts. Lots of flash to clean off, a few holes in the resin to fix but not too difficult. Dimensionally it doesn't compare too well with the drawings in the Datafile 'Taubes at War' but this was published after the kit had been released. The wings are beautifully thin and the moulding generally is nicely detailed. No decals in these kits, but Mike Grant very kindly custom made some for me.

The colouring was matched to colour photos of the restoration of A.180/14 from the book by Marian Krzyzan and Holger Steinle.

I had a lot of difficulty buying the kits from Modellbau Studios. It took many emails and faxes over a year and it wasn't until another modeller from Germany visited the shop on my behalf that anything happened. Service may be much better now - I know Herr Schorch had some difficulty with his computers.

Thankyou Jamo for your post! The build is top notch, and thank you for showing what can be done with Luedemann products,it renforces the point that im trying to make, that there are some gems amongst this companys output that are worth considering.
