Hi all,
Here is my latest build a Tamiya 1/48 Corsair depicted as a captured Japanese aircraft. All marking except the numbers on the tail are hand painted. I have tried to weather the aircraft significantly without going overboard?
This is my 10th build, so is a minor milestone, happy to accept any critisim or comments.
Cheers,
Mark

Hi Nick,
I have found some references to at least 2 known Corsairs to be captured by the Japanese, one was a Kiwi plane the other was a U.S aircraft. The only actual picture I found was one where the plane had crash landed, so I have taken some creative liscense to come up with the oversprayed markings. I built this model as part of my local modelling club having a Corsair build that finishes in 2 weeks time and I wanted to do something a bit different

Hi Mark,
a great build,quite different.
If possible could you post photos or links to the original photos in particular the captured RNZAF corsair.
My father-in law did a tour in 1944-45 flying Corsairs up in the Islands.
I know he'd be interested in seeing any information you may have.
Thanks in advance
Chris
