Hi everybody,
I would like to know which kit is the best for building a KA-6D?
In the National Air and Space Museum in Washington I saw a model of it refueling a Tomcat. I want to do a similar build as I was really impressed by it.
The real thing:
Thanx in advance

Hands down the 1/72 Italeri KA-6D is the best kit out, also you have the optional wing fold. It builds very well. There are some 1/72 aftermarket resin, PE and decals set out.
There are no 1/48 kits available…however you can easily build one. Just find a Revell Intruder, Cobra Company KA-6D conversion resin set and a set of decals. Off hand I know Super Scale International makes a set of decals for the VA-196.
Any other questions feel free to ask.
Happy Modeling,
Joe

Hi there
I tried to build the Fujimi 1/72nd KA-6,it ended up flying against the wall in a fit of rage.
The underside,Fuselage, enginge intake, etc drove me to distraction its multipart and I just couldn't get it to go together, otherwise a great kit well detailed etc
Just dryfit, dryfit, think ,dryfit, and think somemore.
Cheers
Chris.

Hi all,
Thank you for your comments. I still have some doubt about the scale. For the Revell intruder is a Verlinden update set. Is this set worth using for a flying intruder?
