Just finished this one the other day, a Dragon 1/48 scale Fw 190D.

Paints used were Model Master enamels and I used a decal sheet from EagleCals for the stencils and national markings.
I marked this Dora as a 10.Saffel III./JG 301 aircraft ''red 7''.

I might have one more Focke-Wulf done before years end, to early to say for sure if I can get it done.

Thanks very much Neil!

I prefer to take all my model pics outdoors to take advantage of the natural light, the problem with doing this is when the weather is bad I can't take very good pictures or sometimes none at all.
When I took these pics the sun was out and it looked like a nice day and I had planned on getting pics of the Dora and Ta 152C and pose them with some G.I.s to make it look like they were captured aircraft, before I could get everything set up I noticed the sky was starting to cloud up and start raining so I quickly snapped a few pics of the models and had to start putting things away
before it did start raining, the jeep was the only thing that made into the pics, the troops and hanger did not.

Beautiful work Les. Or do you prefer Maxitrone, if that is your name? Ha ha. Your Dora is gorgeous and the rockets, are they R4, I can't remember the designation, with the wooden stabilizing fins is a marvelous touch indeed. Great job. Russell

Thanks very much Russell!

Either Les or Matrixone will be fine I am not too picky about that.

About those air to air missiles, they are Ruhrstahl Ru 344 missiles and a number of them were test fired during the war. They were not used on operations because they could not get enough rocket motors built after the factory was bombed out. There were about 1,000 Ru 344 missile airframes built but had no rocket motors to power them.

Les, do you know if there are any 1/72 scale aftermarket rockets like you have on your Dora available? I would love to copy what you did in 72 scale of course. Imitation being the most sincere form of flattery of course! Russell

Russell,
The only 1/72 scale Ru 344 missiles that I know of come as part of the Dragon Me P1011 kits, I know Revell boxed the Nightfighter version of the Me P1011 kit and it had two of the missiles in it.
The Dragon kit of the dayfighter Me P1011 comes with four of the Ru 344s.
