Hello
I have Accurate Miniatures' 1/48 Mustang Mk1A kit with the RAF/RCAF Mustang 1 conversion set from Ultracast. I would like to build a Canadian aircraft with D-Day invasion stripes and using the 'blown' Malcolm kit canopy. I admit I haven't done a lot of research yet but I would like to hear please from the experts out there who are familiar with this aircraft in order to get some suggestions on which aircraft to model. Also things like pics of specific aircraft, aftermarket decals availability etc.
Thanks in advance from everyone!
cheers;
Bob

Here's a thread on the subject which may prove enlightening:

Thanks Adam!
I have the IPMS D-Day decal sheet and I'll use that for my markings. I'm not sure which aircraft yet I'm going to portray yet and I was hoping to use the Malcolm hood. I'll read the article that you referenced in your post to hopefully help me with the yes-no-maybe Malcolm hood issue. If there weren't any RCAF ones with Malcolm hoods on D-Day, at least the kit has both canopies in it so I won't have to buy an AM one.
cheers

Thanks Tom
I'm building a Mustang Mk 1A with the .50 cal 'chin' guns so this wouldn't work. Maybe for a future project....?
cheers;
