Thanks for the review Tim. I think your assessment of the kit is very fair. For the price and the expectations of the apparent target audience (children), it is not bad. I'm not sure they'll sell that many of them to the younger audience, though. In the 50's and 60's I think this plane had a legendary status, but amongst children now, I don't think many will have heard of it.
The black and gold scheme is a nice change though. I think I would probably pay the £17 for the Heritage resin version rather than struggle with scratch building an interior when the shape isn't right anyway. If I wanted to build one, I might pay Airfix the £5 just for the gold transfers....
