Isn't it funny Martin how both the XB-35/YB-49 and the B-2, both have the same wingspan at 172 feet. Strange, of course both come from Northrop and Mr. Northrop was shown a model of the B-2 before he died, he must have felt somewhat vindicated by his design. Russell

Yes, you're right, Russel.

so tonight the first two grays at the top are on and a first coat of future.

This was the easy session of masking the real one will follow soon

Next is to blend in the lighter gray like on the underside. May sound crazy but ah well its my way ... I like to work with filters

Thanks a lot!

I really want to thank ya all for following me through this.

Well, I think I can close the painting on this one

now only the wheel wells, the bomb bay and the entrance and a base and .... damn this must come to an end.

I will continue it and try to finish it until the upcoming model show in March in Munich. I will do a last update next Sunday if I'm able to achieve something and then the updates will stop until after the show BUT - it will return finished next year!

So thanks again for your patience to follow me!

I wish ya all a peaceful Christmas!

Cheers

I do hate to nitpick, but shouldn't the auxilliary inlets open forwards? See this picture for what I mean.

Anyyway, this is a wonderful model that's worthy of being put on the front page. Whould you be willing to submit it for a feature article?

Thank you both!

@Jessie, your are right about the auxilliary inlets I may change this before our upcoming show here in Munich.

An article, well why not - not sure what I have to do then, so perhaps you need to assist me here

@Jacob, the ladder is complete scratch and made out of some bend aluminum and ever green stuff

Articles are very simple. You already have most of your text in your posts in this thread, and you also already have the pictures. Are you able to size them to 800 X 600? That's the size we like to work with for our articles.

To write your article, go to the Features page and look on the right side near the top for submissions.
Basically it tells you to write your article in a word processor program, and then e-mail it with all the pictures to one of us and we'll take care of making it look nice. Take a look at some previous articles to get a feel for the way your article should look.
A simple template is to have a few paragraphs about the aircraft's history, a paragraph describing the kit, and then you describe the build. How you did things, what you did that's special for this kit (like the way you made the engine exhausts) and how you did the painting, decals and final details.

Have fun writing, and be warned that doing reviews and articles is addictive. You may want to do more and more...

I just found your fantastic build blog Martin. Outstanding job on you B-2 mate! I also have this kit and would like to make a nice model from it.

Can I ask what you did with the moulds of the wheel wells and what did you use to detail the bomb bay and wheel wells?

Hi. Thanks for the warm words. Well the moulds I made from plaster and I did not use them. I redecided and did build some kind of inlays. Most of things I used for detailing the wheel wells and the bomb bay were some electronical spare parts and lead wire.

Cheers
Martin
