Hi!

Just got my 2nd Wingnuts kit, the RE.8. I was inspired to order it after making the LVG CVI. see here here.

Now, it is quite......stringy. I have the Rabu etch wires and fixings but am unsure of how to fix these to the wings as there are no fittings. Ideas anyone?

Also, CDL and PC9/10. What is it best match (Don't want to open a can of worms here though!!)

Also, any aftermarket Vickers and Lewis guns out there?

Thanks

Gordon

Greeting Mr. Upton!

Its great to see you here. I am working on an in the box review of the Re 8 at this time. I look forward to you sharing your build with us? There are several threads on the Raf wires hearabouts. There is a stickied thread at the top of the forum about preshading over prepainted areas and it has some of the info you are looking for.

Thanks Stephen! I will do that until it all goes wrong!

Starting the build this evening with basecoating the wood interior bits.

BTW, I've been pestering Vector to do a resin 1/32nd Clerget to complement the Le Rhone and Gnome 9 already out!

Ta!

Good grief! Gordon is reading my thoughts. I was going to pester him about a 1:32 Clerget and thought, "wait til he's been here and deep into posting threads before you bug him." Now I see he's already on it. Wow!

Just a head's up Gordon. You might have already seen this but WNW has a couple of corrections posted on their website in the RE 8 hints and tips section. A few part ID numbers have been switched in the instructions. Also the top wing cockades should be further outboard.

Gordon

In my Photo album I have a picture of the Duxford RE-8 It's PC10 is distinctly of the Chocolate brown variety. Unfortunately it is hanging.
