Sergeant Boris Lazarev was shot down on 19 Apr 1943 near Chupa by German pilot Oberfeldwebel Rudolf Muller. Lazarev's Hurricane landed in a bog and was found over 60 years later. Bog water preserved Lazarev's remains.

I find this amasing, reminds me of the history channel the bog man. At least his family will have closure after 67 years. I would imagine that the military will give him the respect of a full militery funeral for his sacrafice. Thanks to people like him, the world is a better place. May the good lord hold him in high accords.

Rest in peace, Sergeant Lazarov. Your own people, and the world you helped rid of Nazi evil, owe you a tremendous debt.

I viewed the link and wished I hadn't. Although Sgt Lazarev is an interesting find, I kind of felt like I was intruding. I hope no one posts pictures of my remains on the Internet when I die (especially if I've been injured as he has). What makes this different from the old mummies in the British Museum is that this happened in living memory and he probably has surviving family. While I concur with the remarks fron Bob & J Phillips I think we owe some respect and this link should be closed.
