The Sutton was invented during late months of the First World War, and might well have seen service in some of the later aircraft . . .Between wars it fell out of favour, though aircraft like the S-series of Supermarine floatplanes appear to have carried it. The Spitfire prototype was fitted with it, as was (probably) the Hurricane prototype. HGW has given us two 1:32 versions with the early "A" and the "Q" type. The "Q" type is discussed in the WWII forum.
