Hi:
Can somebody help me in finding the best match for the colours of the RAF camo in WW2 (ETO).
I need the info for Humbrol enamels.
The colours are RAF Dark Green, RAF Ocean Grey and RAF Medium Sea Grey.
Thanks for the help.

Hi there CSCH
In the Humbrol Colour System, RAF WW2 ETO, there is only 1 direct match:
Humbrol No. 106 for Ocean Grey.... the others are "interblends", but in the Postwar section they state:
Humbrol No. 165 for Medium Sea Grey
and No. 163 for Dark Green... confusing.
Otherwise, these links are good for Humbrol matches...
IPMS Stockholm Colouir Charts
Humbrol Cross Reference
Hope this helps

Humbrol never did direct matches for all the RAF wartime colors? What is the world coming to?

Hi Mike
Well they used to... but Humbrol have cut a lot of their colours over the last few years - the whole "Authentics" range for a start...
All the best

After researching for a while I dicided to use
Dark Green - Humbrol 30
Ocean Grey - Humbrol 106
Medium Sea Grey - Humbrol 165
Hope this will work, thanks again

Why not use modelmaster paints, they are much better than humbrol, their colour chart is at there site, http://www.testors.com

Here not always you can find all the MM colours. Nowdays I canīt find RAF colours from MM.

Hi again
I'd love to try MM paints, 'cause so many folks rate them highly, but nowhere seems to stock them here.
I've got some MM metalizers from Great Models Webstore and they're great, so I'll get some standard paints soon... :-)
All the best

Merlin - Just the opposite here. MM seems to be the easiest to find, Humbrol's seem to have disappeared, or are very hard to find locally.

Hi CRS :-)
Well, to be honest, Humbrol (& Tamiya) has disappeared in my local model shops too - all I can get is Revell. Having tried it out, it's really not bad at all, but I'm wary of some of the colour matches...

The best thing that happened to MM paints is the second enamel series where they finally issued British/US ANA shades, Luftwaffe colors, Wehrmacht armor colors, some of the Italian, Japanese and Soviet shades and some of the newer US colors.
