Thanks, Andy, for taking this one "live."
Thanks, too, Nick, I appreciate the kind words. It's a challenging kit to wrestle to the ground, but the results are very nice if you can stomach the work, LOL!

Thanks, Jim. I will have a built review of Pacific Coast Models' Hurricane with metal wings in the next few days. I enjoy building the larger scale planes, and have a number of them in my stash. You guys teach me a lot here, and I'm glad to have a break from disputes about the right transmission covers on M4A1 Shermans, LOL.

Rowan, it takes some wrestling to the ground, especially the wing root issues. But it builds up into a honey.
Battle of Britain is my passion-- have the RoG JU-88 in the stash, and Mal is making up masks for a Spitty Mk.I. Trying manfully to resist the lure of the new DML Emil, so I guess you could say we're even in terms of envy, LOL!

Bill, which Spit do you have? What squadron are you planning to model? i think we're all pretty lucky, after all, we all deplete our stashes one kit at a time, good time to e a modeler!

I have the old, but very nicely-done Revell/Hasegawa 32 scale Mk.I/II. The fuselage needed rescribing, but it wasn't horrendous (try doing a Bf110 from RoG which has ALL raised panel lines). I got some resin weighted wheels and the Eduard Mk.V PE upgrade, though I didn't do the open flaps. Probably should have, but I'm happy with the results. It turned out very nice.
Mal Mayfield has promised me some masks so I can do a Spit from 602 Squadron flown out of Westhampnett by Osgood "Pedro" Hanbury in August 1940. I'll be doing a "mask build" showing the marking of the completed kit.

well if I'm not mistaken, that was the kit i finished and posted here a bit ago on my adversaries post. Is the cockpit devoid of any real detail? If s we probably have a match here. I had to scratchbuild most of it and throw away the rest. keep us posted :-) Jim

Not sure, Jim, but I think it's a different kit (Ia, as opposed to I/II). I got the 411 from Arie Donker, who did this excellent build.
The Eduard Mk.V interior upgrade took care of any problems with the cockpit, though I also used the Barracuda resin seat with leather backpad to replace the oversize seat that comes with the kit or the Eduard set.
