I start the F-15E and got the seats glued together . then it came down to bring the paint out . This open up a new can of worns for me since I'm a WW 1 modeller the colour for the greys i'm at a lose with .
In the instructions it calls for five different greys .
1. B = anthracite grey . Never heard of this one .
2. D = 60 % grey and 40 % white ( what shade of grey do I use ? )
3. F = light grey ?
4. H= grey ?
5. O = dark grey ?

Terri:
I've done modern jets for a while and I don't know what most of those grays are either. I can only tell you the ones I have used.
Light and Dark Ghost grays.. Mainly for the interiors.
If you don't have those colors you can also use Light or Dark Gull Grays depending on your preference.
The overall outer scheme of the E is just plain old Gunship Gray.
Don't sweat all the mixing or such those grays mentioned should get you through it.
Good luck and have fun with it..
Paul

Is it the Revell kit or the Hasegawa kit? There should be a list with paints and numbers out there (and often names).
And perhaps this paint/colour conversion website can help:
http://www.paint4models.com/
It takes some getting used to, but it should be able to get you started. What's more, it also incorporates FS, RAL and RLM numbers/names in the chart (so you can search by them, and see which manufacturer makes that paint).
AFAIK a few manufacturers produce colours specifically matching those of modern aircraft.
Hope this helps...

Hi Terry,
Typical USAF cockpit is painted Dark Gull Gray (FS36231). And yeah, the F-15E is Gunship Gray (FS36118) overall, although the radome color varies from Gunship Gray to even darker.
Good luck, have fun, and enjoy!
Tom
PS JackFlash never gets the memo, does he ?

Hi Tom
Who is this other Terry ? folks are getting me mixed up with this dude !
I went through what I have in Tamiya's paints and these are the greys I have and will be using .
1. neutral grey
2. dark sea grey
3. light grey
4. sky grey
I was planning on getting Testors Model master acrylics , but the only hobby shop which carried them closed shop .
