Hello folks !

I just added another jet to the stash , Revells F-18 E in 72 scale and was wondering if there are any tiger meet decals out there for this aircraft .

Would some one be willing to part with some spares ?

Terri,

I have looked around a bit, and have not come across any Tiger Meet decals for a F-18E. Decals do exist for F-18A / F-18C (including Canadian, Spanish and Swiss IIRC) though, and some are very spectacular.

Good luck with your search...

Cheers,

Harm

Thanks Harm , I did do a search on the net and everything seemed to be RC related . Tried again last night and came up with these by Leading Edge Models

1/72 CAF CF-18 433 squadron 60th special as well as CAF-18 439 tigermeet special 1992 .

I have that kit and still have to build it...
Has anybody built it? I know it's the scaled-down 1/48 mould, but didn't manage to find ANY built review on the web...

For what it is worth, based on wiki [blush]

True, problem, I think, is that those are not F-18 E/F models - and AFAIK the F-18 E/F is bigger than the F-18 A-D. Decals simply would not fit. The size difference would also make it impossible to pass the kit off as a F-18A - which would enable you to use Tiger Meet decals.

The F-18E did apparently not enter service until 1999, and currently is only operated by the US (US Navy since 2001). The F-18F is also operated by Australia (since 2009).

So I am afraid that you have too new an aircraft to have many options yet. Two Bobs has two options.

All this is a shame, since some of the Tiger Meet decals are very attractive:

Other options:

http://www.theaviationworkshop.co.uk/premier-decals-172-scale-c-3_10_13.html?page=7&sort=20a (MA-163 or MA-164)

http://www.zotzdecals.com/reviews/zotz48027/zotz48027.htm

http://www.syhartdecal.fr/references.php?lang=ENG&ref=0 - specialises in very colourful decals, often special events (including Tiger Meets)

Many of these should be available through flightdecs http://www.flightdecs.ca. If you have not used them before, I have, and have had no complaints about them - as long as you do not expect an immediate (= 1 hour your stuff is sent) service.

Hope this helps.

Harm (closet decal-collector)

PS. To see what decals are around, I often use these sites to browse:

http://www.flightdecs.ca
http://www.hannants.co.uk

Many decal makers have their own sites as well.
