I have the V-22 1/48 scale Italeri model. I was wondering if you guys had any idea on how put on a ramp mounted weapon. I was thinking like this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:V-22_M240_machine_gun.jpg but if you guys have other ideas that would work let me know please.

The photo you linked to shows the ramp gunner (no turret there) using an M240D 7.62mm MG (below).

Here is a close-up showing the M240D mount.

The GAU 2 .50 cal MG can also be mounted on the rear ramp.

The weight does become an issue. 800 pounds for the turret means you cannot carry a few more Marines.

Yup, the proposed belly turret (not a ramp turret) does take away some of the usable cargo weight. It is only a prototype for now and has not been accepted by the US military for use.

Off topic here...
In ways I think there needs to be a V-22 "B" version made. The V-22 has proved that Tilt Rotor technology works.
However, there are still issues with the V-22 in this production version. The one that crashed in Afghanistan was discovered that the nose wheel collapsed during a rough rolling emergency landing and analysis pinpointed that the nosewheel strut hydraulics is too weak to even clear an obstacle two inches tall!---so they say.
Only another improved version could address some of the issues found in this one. For one, I wonder if the rotor blades on the V-22 could be curved like the C-130J version and would that improve or affect lift. Maybe a small redesign is needed---if the Marines could afford it and if the improvement leads to something better.
