I just finished building two 1/72 Airfix kits into a Battle of Britain Display. I used the new tool 1/72 Supermarine Spitfire MkIa and 1/72 Messerschmitt Bf110C. The fit was very good on both kits and they are fun kits for the price (ignore the oversized panel lines). Pilots are from the new 1/72 Revell RAF and Luftwaffe sets. The Spitfire Decals are from the box and the Bf 110 are a mix of Techmod and from the box. Paints are from Tamiya and Model Master in "Rattle Cans" (Yes, I know I need an Airbrush). Pilots were primed and then painted with various brands of acrylics. Both models are weathered using ProModeller Washes and Pastels for exhaust stains. A lot of Tamiya Tape was used in masking (esp windows on bf 110). I also used Props from PropBlur.

Feedback is appreciated. Enjoy the pics.

Thanks,
Mike

Mike, very, very nice work there. An innovative way to display your aircraft too. I would be quite proud to have the finished product in my inventory! Good work again. Russell

Thank you Russell. I always wanted to try an In Flight Display and this was a good excuse to try. I like the way it turned out.

excellant display michael, the weathering is subtle and the paint job turned out really well considering it was from a rattle can, kudos. love how you've achieved the prop blur as well all in all you've done a good job, better than i could ever pull off at the moment, need an airbrush myself Ant.

A very sweet build
Any chance that you did some build photos?
I'd love to see more.

thats a really nice display you've built there micheal.
Those propblurs are quite effective, i had to look twice thinking you had used photoshop to do that!
I'm part way through building that 110 myself, a lnongtime favourite aircraft of mine. The original airfix one was a mainstay of my model air force in the 70's!
I also have that spitfire in my stash, so many kits so little time!

gorgeous job , although i'm still out on those prop blade replacements

they look more how a camera sees it rather than the eye

i'd have probably gone with clear discs

but even so superb 1/72 work !!
