I started on the Italari kit last summer, but discovered it was missing a piece. I tried getting a hold of the manufacturer and the distributor, but nobody could help me with it. Aside from that it was a fun build up until the point where I could not continue. It is the 1.48 kit, and it had some good detail on it. I have seen the real one up close at Air Venture, and the kit really does it justice. It is only a shame that I could not complete it, and I dont feel like just buying a whole new kit just for 1 piece!

Unfortunately, the 1/48 scale Italeri kit is the only one on the market. It is of a late prototype and doesn't represent the operational version very well either.

If you are looking for a bigger kit, I would suggest either the 1/48 Academy MH-53 or the CH-46. Both are fun builds, and I found myself spending more time on the MH-53 than really any model I have ever built. Both are great bang for the buck. Regardless of what you choose, cant wait to see the progress!!
