Having compleated my Dauntless build for the Anti-Shipping Campaign I thought it would be a great idea to build my Italeri reboxing of the Accurate Miniatures Avenger into a FAA Tarpon.
After some research I discoverd that I had to replace the observer's seat as it had been left out from the kit. After some digging about this is what I managed to build.
This was then painted and enclosed in the fuselage.
The rest of the model was built up with little or no problems.
And then painted in the FAA colours and the decals applied.
The kit was then weatherd and compleated.
This is the result.
All the main painting was done with Xtracrylix and Revell Aqua with the interia and smaller parts Tamiya and Vallejo were used.
A light oil wash was applied after the klear and then a matt coat to finish.
This was a great kit and I only had a small problem fitting the rear turret.
I'm glad I built this model to go with my FAA Hellcats and might build a US version in the Future.
Thanks for looking.
Martin

Beautiful.
I have the Hasegawa Trapon in 1/72 in the stash.
Makes me want to get it out and start.

That's marvellous!
Can you please tell me a few words about the weathering on the under surfaces, it's pretty awesome
Cheers Nick

Martin,
Finished off very nicely with the weathering, and good to see the less common markings and colour scheme.

Really great looking Tarpon Martin. i agree with the previous comments about your weathering job, very nice. Certainly turns a nice looking model into an outstanding build. Thank you for sharing. Jim
