Hi all,
I would like to model a helicopter over water on a rescue of downed pilots.
I am not sure how to go about modeling the rotor wash. Has anyone modeled this before? Any help would be welcome.

Hey Andrew, Have not done what you are planning but the same principle. Use acrylic gel medium. It's water based and mixs well with acrylic paint. You build it up in circles with a brush, or use one of those child medicine seringes, don't know if I spelled that right, and it dries clear. I got a tube for about $7.00, 6.78 oz, at Hobby Lobby, enough for a lot of dio's, and used it for the ripples in my civil war dio I am working on. Used it for the bow waves on a river boat and you can make ice cicles too as it is real thick and stays in place. A lot of uses for the stuff. Add color for mud on your vehicals, etc. Hope this helps you some.

Thanks Bob for the reply I had read about the acrylic gel medium on the net I'll have to give a try. I had seen a diorama with a helicopter over water and I can't remember where I had seen it.
