Hey there everyone,
Got a problem, I have a Minicraft 1/72 PB4Y-1 kit, but it only has 3 props. Box was sealed, inside was sealed, but only 3 props in the box. I assume the missing prop fell off the sprue before the kit was packaged.
Now saying that, the props in the kit are pretty bad anyway, so I would like to replace them. But.....I can't find any aftermarket B24/PB4Y props anywhere.
I can find Catalina props and B25 props, and they look the same, I am just looking for some help from the experts to see if indeed the props on a B25 or Catalina were the same as would have been used on a B24/PB4Y? Would make life easy if it was, since Quickboost make some nice prop sets for little money.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Get Quickboost props for a B-24.

That would be great if they actually did a set, but alas, they don't.
Engines, rads, etc, but no props.

Now I'm no expert on either B-24/PB4Y-1 nor American propellers, but they look a lot like those Hamilton Standards used on Hellcats and avengers. If there's replacement props available for those, couldn't you just get four of them for your project?
I googled a bit but couldn't find the diameter of the props used on B-24s, so those could be of different type...?
Sorry that I can't be of more help.

I did some more searching and found out that PBY and B-17 props were actually the same as what B24s flew with. It is a Hamilton Standard prop, 139" span.
While Hellcats, Corsairs and the like also had Hamilton Standard Props, they were larger at 157", but at least now I can get a set for a B17 and they will work for the B24.
