This thread will be a build review of Roden's Nieuport 24. this will be kind of a "dual build" with Terri Werner. Hi Terri Here's what's in the box.......

The blue circles in the middle of the roundels and wheel disks were not centered..................................

But Roden came thorough with a quick replacement set and a note............

I'll be building the profile depicted on the back of the box................

I'll be starting the build tomorrow, so stay tuned.......................

I've felt like I've been lost in action these last few months. I've been swamped at work but you have to make hay while the sun shines. It will be nice to get back to the modelling bench this month.

Here's a small update. I'll be going completely "out of the box" on this one. I've painted and closed up the fuselage, all of the interior parts will fit through the bottom.

The engine and cowling fit great. The only challenge right now will be to properly align the fuselage and lower wing.

I've attached the lower wing, tail and undercarriage. I used graph paper to align the fuselage and lower wing. The fit of the parts is very good.

Here is the interior. It is very basic and you can see into the rear of the fuselage behind the seat. A dedicated PE set will turn this kit into a stunner.

Roden needs to be commended, this is a sweet kit! The part fit is great!

OK, so here is the finished build.........................

This is a beautiful little kit and Roden has done a great job rendering the Nieuport 24 in 1/72 scale. The only ommission I can see is that there are no control horns or rigging information for the elevators, perhaps the control lines were inside the fuselage. I'll leave it to Stephen to fill in that information.

Many thanks to Roden and to Stephen Lawson for allowing me to do the build review.

Just like the Nieu. 28 types the controls for the elevators for the Nieu. 24 were on the inside the fuselage.
