Hello!
Some pictures of my Hasegawa 1:72 Starfighter. It depicts a Jabo of Jagdbombergeschwader 31 'Boelcke' of the Luftwaffe.
During the BMF era, the JaboG´s Starfighter were mainly assigned in the nuclear strike role. This meant always having a pair of F-104´s QRA ready fully armed with an U.S. nuclear bomb. Also the M-61 Vulcan gun was replaced by an internal fuel tank to have maximum range. The nuclear armed F-104´s were part of former NATO´s strategy of answering Warsaw Pact aggression with an extensive nuclear counter attack.
The kit was built OOB except for the bang seat. Mine came form Pavla and is a nice rendition of the Lockheed C-2.
BMF was done with Alclad and Bare Metal Foil (on the air brakes, I messed one up in a late state of building, so I had to find a workaraound...).
Decals are from the kit and from Hahen (www.hahen.de)
Hope you like my F-104. Questions and comments welcome.
Servus,
Sebastian

Again: you really rock Luffwoffe!!!!
Do I know that plane already? It's just that you got so many of these lovelies by now I tend to confuse them...
@ Russell: Whoah, don't trip him into a fit those are called Iron Crosses.
Don't know if they're derived from the Maltese ones, though...
