I have seen a few photos of SPAD 13s, with "PHOTO" written on the side, and read where some of them had cameras installed, for photo-reconnaissance missions. Does anybody have any drawings or photos, showing the camera installation, as well as the location of the camera opening/window?
Thanks,
Larry

There were many later production American contract built Spad XIII types that had "Photo" on the access panel behind the pilot's seat. But none were ever installed. It is thought this space was used by pilots to store survival equipment incase they were forced down behind the lines. Though in truth it would have been impractical as screws were used to attach the panel.

Thanks for that info and the photo. I had seen that photo before, with the mechanic(?) inside the camera/bomb bay. Still trying to locate pics or drawings of the camera installation and the window(s)/opening.
