Is Stuka Tamiya's own engineered kit or repack of Italieri's?

Its a re-boxing of Italeri's Stuka. Tamiya sells Italeri kits in Japan in Tamiya boxes.
Tamiya have added some P.E to this boxing though, which I don't believe the Italeri kit had.

Hi there
What on earth are all those deep rivets doing plastered all over the Mustang wing?! Haven't they learned from the savaging the Dragon kit suffered!
All the best

You and me both.
I wasn't interested in it at all, in fact I would even say I yawned when I heard Tamiya were releasing one, then I saw it, now I want one .
Better start saving.

I'll have the means to get them if I just stop buying armor haha. The Bushmaster might be the only thing hindering me from getting this kit. I hope I can get the Mustang before August but we'll see about that one.

Hi Andy
I must admit the pics of the trench lines and divets have had the opposite effect on me, and actually put me off (not that I could hope to afford one anyway). I'm just hoping they're only on the test shots and not for real...
All the best

Hi all,
Rowan, the wing has indeed a lot of rivets but they are much less pronounced than on this picture...
I believe the silver paint make them look like the Dragon ones but they are much more subtle than that. See here or here.
I had the chance to see the sprues a couple of weeks ago and the surface finish is on par with the one of the Spitfire kit. However, I would have liked Tamiya to have the bo...cks to make them smooth like on the real thing. Maybe Zoukei-Mura will do them this way...

Hi Jean-Luc
That's a relief. I must admit I was really shocked by the panel lines in the header picture, to the point where I did a double-take and wondered if I was looking at the new Tamiya kit at all!
It'll be interesting to see what Zoukei-Mura do, but I doubt any company will ever dare release a Mustang showing the wings filled and primed like the original because I think most modellers would object to the absence of panel lines (and rivets), unrealistic or otherwise. The same is of course true for Me 262s etc.
Going back to Andy's yawning - I do wish Tamiya or Zoukei-Mura had chosen to do a P-51B/C, as personally I'd find that far more exciting than yet more 'D/Ks. Maybe they have one planned for the future?...
