Here's a little non-commissioned piece that I just finished. It's a Pfalz DIIIa of Jasta 30. Jasta 30 is one of the few units to be equipped exclusively with the Pfalz. Its aircraft carried a distinct orange diamond on the fuselage and empennage, and many carried some sort of variation of a striped design on the fuselage. This particular machine is one that I spotted way in the background of a photo taken at the group's airfield.

For my lighting reference I used - what else? - the WNW kit.

For the finished work I chose a complimentary color scheme leaning heavily on blue and yellow/orange with just a narrow range of red and green in between. It's a small piece- 8.5" x 13". At that small size I decided to keep the background loose and painterly.

"Jasta 30 Pfalz DIIIa"
oil on linen on masonite

I paint, therefore, I am.

Sounds like you might be getting some homemade cookies in the mail. But who can disagree with Terri? It looks wonderful.
